Shrimp a la Caroline

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

This is how I like to cook and eat shrimp: with lots of garlic, onions, a little spicy, with a touch of lime juice and bread slices to soak up the incredible flavorful sauce at the bottom of the dish. I called this dish shrimp a la caroline because it's so me, what else (ha!)! And also it takes less than ten minutes to make, pretty easy and simple. Take a look:

Recipe by Sweet Caroline

1 lb. fresh shrimp (I used whole shrimp but you can use shrimp without the shells and deveined)
7 cloves garlic, minced
1 white onion, diced
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
1 lime, cut into wedges
few slices of bread

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium//high heat. Add the garlic, onions and red pepper flakes and sauté until onions are translucent. Add the shrimp and let it cook until they turn pink, season with salt. Add the butter and mix until it melts completely. Transfer shrimp to a serving dish, serve with lime wedges and slices of bread, garnish with chopped green onions. Enjoy!
