An Afternoon at Savannah, Georgia...

Monday, September 16, 2013

We head off for our family vacation right after
Labor Day. This year we chose Clearwater, Florida
as our spot to relax and spent some family time.

My husband decided that we should do a road trip
instead of the plane ride, this way we could stop
along the way for some sightseeing and make
a quick visit to a place we haven't been before.

We chose to stop by Savannah, Georgia and I'm so glad
we did. This city is absolutely gorgeous!
We had a delicious southern comfort meal; fried chicken, collard greens,
mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, biscuits, hoe cakes and sweet iced tea.

After lunch, we took some photos at the Johnson Square with the kids,
then we hit the road again. I was a little sad to leave since it's a beautiful city
with many things to do and see, but hopefully we'll be back again and I can't wait!
Take a look:

loved the welcome sign, I got Georgia on my mind!

We were very pleased with our southern comfort food. Never mind my tired face!

The kids loved the water fountain.

The trees around the square are simply gorgeous!

Savannah City Hall.

Stay tuned! There's more to see from our vacation.
Next, our dat at Clearwater Beach, Florida.
