Vacation: Norfolk Botanical Garden

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

This is my final post from our vacation series,
I hope you'll enjoy it.
Our trip to the Norfolk Botanical Garden was excellent,
it was my favorite activity from all the other ones that we did.
The botanical garden is huge and absolutely beautiful, just
the rose garden alone is worth the trip (I'm not lying!).
We rode the tram to see all of the parts of the garden
since it would probably take us all day to walk and
see everything. We made some stops along the way to
snap some photos and take a closer look at some exquisite spots.

Vacation: Norfolk Harbor Fest

Friday, June 22, 2012

The same day we visited the Virginia Zoo,
we also stopped to see the Norfolk Harbor Fest
since it was really close by.
The Harbor Fest is held annually and it's filled with many sailboats from
many different countries in which you can step aboard for a close look inside.
We had the opportunity to step aboard the White Swan sailboat from Brazil.

Vacation: Visit to Virginia Zoo

Thursday, June 21, 2012

During the week, we had the opportunity to visit the Virginia Zoo.
It was great seeing all the beautiful animals, we loved all of them.
We saw impalas, giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers and bears.
My favorite was seeing the giraffes, they're exquisite.
Sophia loved the elephants, it was her first time at a Zoo and she liked
very much.

Vacation: Day at the Beach...

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

We had a fun beach day at Sandbridge Beach, Va.
It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. Sophia had
an absolutely blast! She wouldn't seat in the sand at first but
afterwards she liked so much that she was throwing sand everywhere.
It was Ian's first time at the beach, for being so young I don't think
he had a clue of what was going on. He just layed on the towel under the
umbrella playing with his toy and slept pretty much the whole time.

My Thoughts on Motherhood...

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

Being a mom is hard labor, you've to constantly fulfill your kids needs and desires before your very own. Motherhood doesn't come with a handbook with all the answers and challenges that you'll have to face along way, but God grants patience and understanding. Maternal instinct eventually kicks in, our motherly urge to protect and nurture comes full force the very moment your child is welcomed into this world.

Let me tell you something, I don't have all the answers most of the time and I'm finally ok with that. I came to the realization that I'm not perfect but I pray to God that I can be a very good mother to my kids. Give them plenty of love, treat them with kindness and patience, give them my full attention, and raise them to be good kids above all. I can guarantee that there will be hard moments and there will be good moments too. In fact, the good moments cancels out the bad ones.

The best advice that I can give you is: don't compare yourself with other mothers. Everyone is different, every child is different. So, don't compare. And just remember, live your life day by day. What I mean is, if your day doesn't go exactly as you'd planned, it's okay. There's always tomorrow and a bright day ahead.

Also, this is one is very important: always, always find JOY in your child, even when they throw tantrums and you don't know what to do.
